Thursday night I made a presentation on alternate forms of digital communications for a regional gathering of Emergency Communications Specialists for the LDS church. The webmaster for CARS was in attendance, and took the initiative of turning notes into a little set of slides providing a brief outline of what was discussed. The main point of the presentation was that modern technology provides numerous avenues of communication, to be used during -- and perhaps more importantly, before -- an emergency. Planning and coordination beforehand is essential to the success of any emergency response. |
