Hams should always maintain their current address on file w/ the FCC. If the FCC tries to contact you (usually to notify you of an accused code violation) and the mail bounces, your license may be revoked.
The process for changing your address is very similar to that for license renewal. This page will walk you through the procedure as it looked in 2024/2025.
Tip: You can view a screenshot at full size & quality by right-clicking it and selecting "Open image in new tab".
Visit https://www.fcc.gov/
Find ULS, their Universal Licensing System:
Click "File Online". This will take you to the License Manager, where you must log in using the FRN (not your username) that the license is under.Â
(Don't try to do this after 9PM Pacific time...)
After logging in, you'll see a list of licenses (current and expired) associated with the FRN.
Click "Update Licenses" in the sidebar. Select all of your licenses (many people will only have one, but if you have more than one it doesn't make any sense to only change some of them!)
Add your license to the "Update" group on the right and click Continue.
Click Continue again.
-- and again.
Enter your new contact information, including email address; the FCC now requires email to communicate.
No more screenshots at this time; I don't want to update my information. When I have the chance to work with someone who actually wants to make a change, I'll document the rest of the process.
